Students of the Industrial Workforce Program have started their two weeklong Heavy Equipment course. They will get hands-on experience at one of Southwest Indian Foundation (SWIF)'s community project site's, Hozho Academy, where we volunteer our resources and time to assist the charter school in their campus development.
Not only do our students get 2 WEEKS OF HANDS ON STICK TIME (Dozer, Backhoe, Front loader, Skid steer, excavator, compactor), but they also get paid because we partner with New Mexico Dept. of Workforce Solutions!
To put this in perspective, a 2 DAY COURSE in level one training by CAT costs between $1500 - $2400 PER STUDENT (https://www.cat.com/en_US/support/cat-training/Heavy-Equipment-Operator-Training.html).
