Students of the Industrial Workforce Program are now spending their afternoons in the Southwest Indian Foundation (SWIF) Warehouse, getting hands-on training building the houses which SWIF provides to veterans of the Navajo Nation.
While they are participating in Job-site training they will make part time pay through New Mexico Dept. of Workforce Solutions. They are getting paid to learn!
We are currently looking for companies and vendors to sponsor the program and help us cut down on the out-of-pocket costs that SWIF covers, providing the students with tools, safety boots, etc. (which they get to keep!). If you are interested in sponsoring the program and helping to build the Greater Gallup Workforce please reach out!
